INTELLIGENCE PRIORITY: 🟡 ELEVATED
Recommended Action:Â Assess your household readiness and build a minimum 72-hour sustainment plan.
🧠OVERVIEW
Most emergencies don’t look like the movies. They look like power outages, severe weather, supply disruptions, and delayed emergency response.
In those first 72 hours, you are responsible for yourself and your family.
The problem?
Most households are not ready.
📍 WHAT IS THE 72-HOUR WINDOW?
Emergency management agencies consistently recommend being self-sufficient for at least 72 hours following a disaster.
Why?
Emergency services are overwhelmed
Infrastructure may be down
Access to food, water, and fuel becomes limited
You are your own first responder.
⚠️ THE MOST COMMON FAILURES
Most people don’t fail because they didn’t try. They fail because they prepared incorrectly.
▪️ Not enough water▪️ Food that requires power or preparation they don’t have▪️ No backup lighting or power▪️ No medical capability beyond basic first aid▪️ No plan
Preparedness is not about buying gear. It’s about planning for reality.
🛠️ THE BASELINE: WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED
đź’§ WATER
Minimum: 1 gallon per person per day
Recommended: 3–5 days minimum
Don’t forget pets
🍽️ FOOD
Shelf-stable, ready-to-eat items
Minimal cooking required
Rotate regularly
🔦 LIGHT & POWER
Flashlights (not just your phone)
Extra batteries
Backup power options (battery banks, generators if available)
🩺 MEDICAL
Basic trauma kit
Daily medications (minimum 7-day supply)
First aid supplies
â›˝ FUEL & MOBILITY
Keep vehicles at least half a tank or more
Plan for limited fuel availability
đź“„ DOCUMENTS
IDs, insurance, and critical records
Store in a waterproof, accessible location
🧠THE MISSING PIECE: A PLAN
Gear without a plan is just clutter.
Ask yourself:
Where are we going if we have to leave?
How are we communicating if phones go down?
Who is responsible for what?
If you don’t have answers—you’re not ready yet.
🎯 OPERATIONAL TAKEAWAY
Preparedness is not extreme. It is responsible.
Start simple. Build in layers.Improve over time.
Most importantly—start now.
đź”» PROMETHEUS ASSESSMENT
Emergencies don’t give meaningful warning. They expose what you’ve already done—or failed to do.
